Lest you think Jack has somehow replaced Eddie in my affections, I have to share this photo. He's more handsome than ever since his recent haircut, and he's never happier than when he's basking in the sunlight.

Eddie slept quite peacefully on Veronica's chest during our last trip to San Antonio. I suspect it's because it was the only place he could lie down where my parents' Morkie, Bear, wouldn't bother him.

Eddie hates my camera. He ducks his head and hides every time I pick it up. But last weekend, when he realized I wasn't using my speedlight, he was much more cooperative. (And having Jim standing over my shoulder getting his attention helped a lot, too.)
These were both shot with my new 50mm 1.4 Nikkor lens (set at f/2.0, using natural light from the nearby door). I may not be entirely sure how to pronounce "bokeh" but I sure know how to shoot it - and this lens creates some of the yummiest effects.
C'mon - when his eyes are in focus, but his nose isn't? That's just cool. Love me some bokeh.
Eddie had so much fun at the park that day; he was wet and muddy from chasing the ducks. I love all the texture in this photograph. This is Eddie, the Yorkie Jim and I rescued last November at a year-and-a-half old. It's been a privilege to watch him heal from the abuse he suffered at the hands of his previous owners and really grow into the mischevious little twerp that owns my heart. This photo wouldn't have been possible without Jim's help. We had Eddie out at the dog park, and found a grouping of trees that provided beautiful shade. After getting Eddie to put his front paws up on a log, Jim stood to the side and called him ... and Eddie looked up with such love and adoration.
